I wonder the same question. In my opinion, as fas as the history tells us, C.Platts was the forerunner inventor of the jumbo and in know way should be confused by later productions. Definetely not a contract knife by platts(w.r. case). W.R. Case & Son's was a different company and their knives were made on contract too but NOT BY C.PLATTS who went out of bussiness(RIGHT). They could have been made on the same equipment as C.Platts because they bought the company(right). Here is another question. Marble's M.S.A--Made on contract by case bros. Little Valley--why not by w.r case in little valley? This is funny to me that Case Bros and W.R Case were in bussiness at the same time in little valley?? I dunno. HELP HELP
