Rumor Mill- Elephant Toenail Calendar on eBay
In case you have heard the rumor let me confirm it is true, so at the risk of appearing to be opportunistic. I know I would be in deep trouble from some of you here at ET.com if I didn’t at least tell you what I have going on over on eBay.
What I have done is this- and you’ll understand because if you think about it, you know I live a double life (like Batman did). Most folks see me as a guy into old, vintage, antique stuff, if you will, while the side most folks don’t know or think about is that I am a little bit of a computer nerd too
Well, I was playing around on my computer and made an calendar. I was exploring iPhoto on my Mac (more about this in an upcoming post in about a week) and found where I could make a calendar, so I did. I actually ordered 5, not really knowing what I wanted to do with the others. I decided to put them on eBay, other than the one I am keeping. In case any you are interested all you have to is search “elephant toenail calendar.”

Hey Scott, I did run into your calendars on ebay and thought that was a good idea. Now that I know the rest of the story (iPhoto) it makes even more sense.
I see that your photographs are getting better all the time, (yeah). Even so. I would like to suggest that at some point you consider creating an updated calender with photos made by one or more of your professional photographer friends,…
Who knows, perhaps I could even post a “How to photograph a knife” tutorial somewhere and you could have several collectors submit photos of their knives,… Just a thought.

Yes Derek, I have been aware of the need to take better pictures…how’s that for a carefully worded sentence. If I don’t lose my shirt on the calendars I might consider doing another, but they have along way to go based on the current bids….
I’ll speak on behalf of all toenail collectors by saying- You bet! We would love for you to record a video I could add to the site here for folks to get the basics of better toenail photos. We’d rather see a movie that read text anyday….
All you need to do is record it, then upload it to YouTube and then I can “bring” it into a post here in The News. I know that sounds complicated but is really isn’t. If you use a Mac, then iMovie will sent to YouTube, if you are on a PC….well then too bad
Shoot me an email and let’s finish the discussion, and we’ll figure out the best approach to help all of us here get better photos.
