Here is a doozie..Reported to be a Case Bros imitation tortoise shell. Here’s the seller’s description: ”Early CASE BROS. , Elephant Toenail. Both blades are marked. The blades appear to be full and both have “SNAP”. The Master Blade has double pulls. This knife has steel bolsters and brass liners. The handles are Imitation Tortoise Shell. This knife is in as found condition and has never been cleaned up. The knife has been used and carried, but appears to have been well taken care of. The length of this knife closed is 4 3/16 inches.”I don’t remember all the particulars about this as I have been saving it until I developed a Counterfeits area here at ET.com, but what I do know is this. Case Bros never made a knife longer than 4 inches. At the risk of being wrong on the make it actually is, I’m saying an HSB with fake stamps. HSB did make an imitation tortoise shell toenail about this length.
