Elephant Toenail Pricing Resources

One of the challenges faced by collectors today is the availability of real time price information. Knife Price Guide books are published every few years and are either out of date the minute they are published or include values that were projected out to last until the next edition is published.

The other challenge is most dealers aren't toenail specialists. They may be experts in other patterns and brands, but I haven't found a dealer that knows toenails across the board. Even Joe Seale said in my interview with him that he only focuses on the top 5 brands of toenails. I know this isn't rocket science, but just because a dealer knows Case knives like the back of his hand, doesn't mean when it comes to other brands he is the best source of information.

Here at ET.com we have identified over 250 varieties of toenails. It would be virtually impossible to actually "price" each one. Our goal is to provide actual sale transactions, in addition to a Vintage Toenail Price Guide. Both of these resources are to be used in-conjunction with each other to help toenail collectors zero in on a range of value for any given knife. In the end you must decide what a particular toenail is worth to you.
